And when I feel the world crumbling around me again, I only have to think about this moment and be able to believe that my prayers can truly be answered, and that though the answers may not come in the form we imagined them, it doesn't make it any less perfect or sweet.
Here's to the words my love uttered. The words that I may never remember exactly as they were said, but that my heart will always cherish. May it nourish my soul during times of doubt.
Yeah, I think I can be patient now, I can fight the pain and the fear, because I do believe that someday things will work out fine...
"Life is a succession of lessons, which must be lived to be understood." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Post-argument blog post: Chopped up thoughts on marriage
Mark and I got into a heated discussion tonight about corruption, change of heart, and actions. It is an important issue but one that I think shouldn't be important enough in one's life to end up unintentionally hurting your partner's feelings. As a matter of fact I don't think there's anything important enough in this life that should make you raise your voice at someone you love. Not that I'm saying that there are things that are not important enough to be angry over but that even in anger we should learn not to hurt each other.
My problem with becoming upset is that after a few days I almost always can't even remember what I was upset about but I sure remember the feeling. I need to learn to flush out the negativity in me quick....I should learn to remember the facts better and forget the feelings a bit. Someone needs to understand that I don't remember facts that much but that the way I feel/felt is a fact.
Nobody's perfect. We each have room for improvement. Nobody's too imperfect that they can not find it in themselves to change.
Marriage is a big part of this dance of life and even with two left feet I'm resolved to learn the moves and someday be able to dance without stepping on my husband's toes or having him step on mine (super bigat pa naman...ang sakit!).

Marriage Makes for Great Sayings
I recently read an email in my uncle's inbox. I wasn't snooping around...he asked me to open his email for him since he hasn't been going to work due to his heart condition. Anyway this funny email caught my eye. Picked out the ones I found to be most amusing but not too offending (haha...kaka offend pag natatamaan!). I wonder what Mark has to say to this....No darling you don't need to reply to that because you might get in trouble...just let me wondering :p
Funny (unfortunately many times true) marriage sayings:
After marriage, husband and wife become two sides of a coin; they just can't face each other, but still they stay together. - Hemant Joshi
By all means marry. If you get a good wife, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher. - Socrates
Woman inspires us to great things, and prevents us from achieving them. - Dumas (Hoy ha! Bad to...blaming other people for your own failings.)
The great question... which I have not been able to answer... is, "What does a woman want? - Sigmund Freud (neither have I been able to answer this! Tell me people what do I want?)
I had some words with my wife, and she had some paragraphs with me. - Anonymous (Not so true with us anymore. I tend to shut up and mope when I'm hurt or mad.)
"I don't worry about terrorism. I was married for two years." - Sam Kinison (LOL!!!)
"There's a way of transferring funds that is even faster than electronic banking. It's called marriage." - James Holt McGavran
"I've had bad luck with both my wives. The first one left me, and the second one didn't." - Patrick Murray
Two secrets to keep your marriage brimming
1. Whenever you're wrong, admit it,
2. Whenever you're right, shut up.
- Nash (Hear! Hear!)
The most effective way to remember your wife's birthday is to forget it once... - Anonymous (Ummm....am the one guilty of this.)
You know what I did before I married? Anything I wanted to. - Henny Youngman
A good wife always forgives her husband when she's wrong. - Milton Berle (Oh I AM a good wife after all. ^_^)

The husband (& wife) tag
Saw this on Andrea's blog and though I was in the middle of an article I had to pause and answer the questions. Am not tagging anyone but if you do want to answer go ahead. Just make sure you leave a comment so I can go visit your blog to check on your answers. ^_^
1. How long did you date?
I think we officially started dating when we were already together. It's hard pinpointing when we did start "dating" because we've been good friends for so long so we were always together. Feel free to give me an estimate if you remember it at all Mark.
2. How old is he?
Twenty seven
3. Who eats more?
Mark...I still blame him for influencing my bad eating habits (in terms of portion "non-control").
4. Who said “I love you” first?
I honestly can't remember. I'm so bad at this! But I do remember that I told him that I liked him first. Talk about aggressive. In fairness to me it was meant to make him stop giving me the special treatment and ended up having my feelings reciprocated a few days later. :P
5. Who is taller?
Mark.
6. Who sings better?
Definitely me. Yabang or pagduduhagi sa asawa? Take it as you wish. ^_^
7. Who is smarter?
Andrea spelled it out pretty well when she said that "I guess it’s safe to say that I’m glad I married someone who’s at least as smart as me." Seriously though Mark and I have different smarts. He's the geeky textbook and techie type. I'm the geeky bookworm (fiction only please...) who loves puzzles.
8. Whose temper is worse?
Generally mine but when he blows up I think his is.
9. Who does the laundry?
The washing machine. Maybe I shoul start naming our appliances like my sister does so I can give a name in answer to questions like this...
10. Who does the dishes?
Gemmalyn again. I sometimes do it at lunch or after supper if I feel like it or I think Gemmalyn had a tiring day.
11. Who sleeps on the right side of the bed?
Whoever feels like it.
12. Who pays the bills?
Both.
13. Who cooks dinner?
Me.
14. Who drives when you are together?
Dad, Kuya Dowy, taxi driver, bus driver at tricycle driver. Hehe.
15. Who is more stubborn?
Both.
16. Who kissed who first?
Mark kissed me. I just smiled.
17. Who is the first to admit when they are wrong?
It depends.
18. Whose parents do you see the most?
Used to be mine but this year with Mark's parents going back and forth here and the province it seems that I see his parents more.
19. Who proposed?
Sam? :p
20. Who is more sensitive?
A big ME.
21. Who has more friends?
I think I do even though we have a lot of friends in common.
22. Who has more siblings?
Mark.
23. Who wears the pants in the family?
Check the meaning of the word uxorious. Joke lang. Mark is not "ander da saya" although some people thought he was going to be. I guess the person who wears the pants in our family is whoever is in the right frame of mind for the moment.

Lesson Learned from Kung Fu Kids
While typing a post about technology and the environment I heard someone in Kung Fu Kids (Gemmalyn and Sam, who are a few feet away from me are watching the show.) say,
When you were a kid what did you "know" about being in love and did experience prove you right?
"Ang alam ko lang ang taong bagong in-love tawa ng tawa at laging kinikilig. Ang taong matagal ng in-love away ng away pero lagi pa rin magkasama. Siguro kasi mahal talga nila ang isa't isa."Hehe.

I Attract Geeks
Taking quizzes on Facebook to while away the time till Mark gets home or till I feel sleepy. Took a quiz about the type of people that are attracted to me and I attract.... GEEKS! Figures...I definitely married one. Haha!
LOL.
Your stunning intellect and love of sci-fi and video games allures the geeks like nothing else. Maybe it is the sparkle in your eye that makes them want to text you, who knows. Geeks make good partners, but tend to be arguementative. If you are a TRUE geek magnet, you will know if that was spelled correctly, and actually care. If it is a bad-boy/bad-girl you are seeking, you are barking up the wrong tree, unless they are just 'bad' behind a PS2 console.Oh me oh my. No wonder I didn't get my bad boy. :p
LOL.

Valentines Day
This day is going pretty well. Mark and I have no plans at all since he is in the office rushing some project. It started out pretty well though with Mark greeting me before we went to bed last night (madaling araw pala) and this morning before he left for work. Considering how we often forget to celebrate occasions I actually feel good about this one. Even with Mark busy I feel like this time he just really needs to work but would rather spend some time with me and Sam. That feels good. Besides we get to save money. Hehe. In this case it really is the thought that counts. I love you Mark!
I am also getting a little bit better about waking up and haven't been spending the entire day in bed. My energy levels are slowly increasing and I don't feel really hopeless. I really do hope this lasts. I hate going back to the deep dark pit of depression. It's inexplicably horrible.
On another note I have decided to start sending a forwarded text messages now and then. My ninang/tita El sent me a very encouraging message the other night and it made me feel good. It made me remember one of my conversations with another mommy friend. After not seeing each other for months she thanked me for sending her inspirational messages about once or twice a month. She said that they usually arrived at a time when she felt really low and discouraged but she never replied because during those times she just didn't know how to tell her troubles. It's kind of funny since I almost never reply to Ava or Armi (two of the most frequent people to forward text messages to me). I always say na kuripot lang ako sa text but the truth is I too don't know what to say. My point is I realize that as long as I don't end up spamming people I should pass those forwarded messages or come up with my own inspirational quotes since you never know who needs it that day. It's also a good way to let people know that you think about them now and then.
I'm just rambling.
Happy valentines everyone!

Changing Names and Hearbreaking News for Geeks
I found out from Twitter that Sara Morishige just got married to Twitter's c0-founder and chairman, Evan "evhead" Williams. Poor hubby. I don't think he'll be that blue about the whole thing though because he's been into Niniane lately.
What I'm wondering about though is if Sara will find it easy to transition to Sara Williams or if she'll do the hyphen thing like I sometimes do. I do the hyphen thing not because I don't want to use my hubby's name but I feel a little disloyal to my clan whenever I drop the Tasarra from my name. It's bad enough that the Balagtas, my mom's maiden name, has to be dropped. On a more practical note, I also use the hyphen because it makes it easier for past acquaintances to recognize my name on emails. If I use my new name some might go...Hannah who?...and then mark me as spam. If I were Sara I'd use the hyphen (Sara Morishige-Williams) just because it looks and sounds a lot cooler than plain Williams, which makes her sound like a tennis player (which isn't really bad either if you think about it). Anyway though they'll never read this. Congrats to Ev and Sara.

Posting entries like this makes me realize how much I have turned into Mark's wife! How in the world would I know about these people otherwise?

Update: Here's the link to Mark's short post on Sara and Evhead. I couldn't believe that was about 3 years ago!

Cyber Romance
This is a good day. Opened my inbox and found a link to this.

Made me remember when I got mad at Mark when we were still in college. He sent me on a mini-treasure hunt when I arrived at school. Our Apphy classmates (I remember Alvin Tapia in particular) excitedly "helping me" find the clue and decode it by hand since I didn't get the fact that I was just supposed to click on the butterfly in the powerpoint presentation to be able to decode it. In the end the treasure hunt lead to this webpage (am so happy it still exists) and to dinner that night with Joe Cool (the McDonalds Happy Meal toy that I really liked).
I love it when my husband's geekiness is used for corny romantic stuff. It makes me fall in love again. Hihi. ^_^
